What is sound design?

I design sound. Which means I make new sound or alter existing sound to work for the given scenes. After manipulation, or careful choices and layering of different sounds, the soundtrack will add to, clarify or enhance the dramaturgy, atmosphere, speed or action of  the film or theatre play. Its also not about just a few scenes, most of the time I design every sound (except for dialog and sync off course) I try to give an overall style and color to the project.

Most of the time this sound design can be very low key, on the verge of being unconscious. But it works!

I use all available sources; recorded sound, analog and digital synths, musical instruments, objects… All recording and manipulation are done in the highest possible  quality.
