Tank – sound design and composition of a Raoul Servais short
A short film about peace, using the horrors of the First World War as a starting point and focusing on the experiences of the soldiers in the trenches.
I did’t take the job lightly. The sound design and composition is a very complex sonic universe both inside and outside of the main caracter a 1916 Mark I tank. Graphically Raoul was clearly inspired by the german expressionist making is a very interesting animated short. The sound and music helped to move the story along, give emotional content and give contrast and dynamics to the overall dramaturgy.
I have to ad, on a personal note, that the collaboration with Raoul was lovely. He is an incredible human being, very intense, focussed, funny and a true gentlemen. Fantastic to work with.
